Medical Tape Is Different From Ordinary Tape

Apr 13, 2023 Leave a message

First, medical tape needs better air permeability, while ordinary tape does not. In order to obtain better air permeability, medical tapes usually use dots, nets or spaced strips in the selection of gluing, rather than the full-width coating used in general tapes.

Second, medical tape requires non-allergenic and biocompatible nature, because medical tape is attached to the patient's skin and cannot cause allergic reactions, while ordinary tape does not have this requirement.

Third, medical tape requires moderate viscosity, while ordinary tape needs to have strong peeling strength, because the medical tape can not have a tingling sensation when torn from the skin, but it cannot be non-sticky and fall from the skin, so the viscosity should be moderate.

Fourth, medical tape is also relatively strict in terms of odor and cannot have a heavier taste. Ordinary tape, on the other hand, does not have this requirement.
